The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor made its appearance at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and impressed everyone there. This year Ford unveiled the SuperCrew version of the Raptor and it was equally well received.
With increased travel, more horsepower from theEcoboost engine, and a lighter aluminum body, we can’t wait to get some seat time in the new Raptor. Unfortunately for us, that is probably still several months away, but we did get to spend some quality time walking around it and checking out all the details on the new dirt eating machine from Ford.
We got a chance to speak with Jamal Hameedi, Ford’s Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer, at the 2016 NAIAS about the new 2017 Ford Raptor and all the upgraded parts, including the new 3-inch Fox coilovers and bypass shocks, increased suspension travel, stronger frame, a 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, a new transfer case, and plenty more.
