 1995 Chevy Suburban Front Bumper

Here's a surprise: We installed this Westin Sportsman brushguard on our '95 Suburban in a matter of minutes. Yep, really. The secret to its speedy assembly is its design, which incorporates clamps that simply affi x the unit to the vehicle with no drilling. In virtually no time we had improved the aesthetics of our daily-driver/weekend-warrior rig, while at the same time given it a fighting chance against brush and other trail body-bashers.

Heck, we got the brushguard on so fast, we had plenty of time to bolt a pair of Westin large driving lights onto the Sportsman's built-in light tabs. Even that went pretty fast.

Bottom line here is that this install defines an easy bolt-on. Even if you only have rudimentary mechanical skills, this install can make you look like Joe Mechanic.

 1995 Chevy Suburban Bumper Kit
The Sportsman is one of eight models of grilleguards available from Westin. It is one piece and fully welded and comes with light guards, mounting hardware, and instructions. We installed the black powdercoated model. The Sportsman is also available in polished or chrome-plated stainless steel. Our Westin large driving light kit came with wiring, mounting hardware, a switch, and instructions
 1995 Chevy Suburban Clamps
1. Here's the secret to the Sportsman's easy installation. The kit uses clamps like this that fasten to the brushguard and then hook onto the truck. No drilling is required.

2. After hooking the pair of top clamps onto the bumper, we lifted the guard into place and handtightened it to the clamps. We then installed the pair of lower clamps and hand-tightened those.
 1995 Chevy Suburban Measure
3. We used a tape measure to make sure that the Sportsman was centered and leveled on the vehicle.

4. The next step was to tighten the clamps. The instructions directed us to torque the 3/8-inch fasteners to 35 lb-ft.
1995 Chevy Suburban Light Guard Assemblies
5. The light guard assemblies went on next. They simply attach to the Sportsman at four points for each guard.

6. The Westin driving lights have a molded plastic housing and put out 55 watts of power. They simply bolt into the Sportsman's built-in light tabs.
 1995 Chevy Suburban Wiring
7. We ran the wiring per the included instructions. It's pretty easy. The no-drill switch fastens via adhesive tape. We mounted it to the left of the steering wheel for easy fingertip control. If you have basic tools and less than an hour, chances are you can perform this EZ bolt-on.
