In Mud
In the mud the 54s did exactly what we expected. Ample traction, thanks to the self-cleaning design along with enough power to keep them turning, allowed quick work of the notorious Hollister Hills mud pit. Recent rains ensured plenty of sloppy depth.
On the Street
We even gave the tires a run on pavement to see how round they felt once heated up. Without an effective way to actually balance a tire of this size, we figured we'd keep our speeds under 40 mph. However we were surprised with how true they felt spinning at speeds in excess of 55 mph (not that we'd recommend actually using them at freeway speeds, we just thought we'd see what happens). Overall the 54-inch Bogger is a much smoother running tire on pavement than we expected. They are still one of the loudest, but much better than the smaller size Boggers we've tested in the past. This may be a result of the new tread design.
